Truck Detection from Aerial Photographs

چکیده
This paper presents a method for extraction and recognition of trucks from aerial photographs. A new method, mean shift image segmentation, is employed to extract truck shadow and boundary information. After a conversion of the boundaries into vector data, an enclosing minimum area rectangle is fit to each boundary. These rectangles are input as candidates into a designed Hopfield Neural Network. Trucks in the photographs are then recognized by comparison with predefined truck models.

3D Model Generation for Cities Using Aerial Photographs and Ground Level Laser Scans
In this paper we describe techniques for 3D textured model construction of urban areas using acquisition devices such as intensity cameras, as well as 2D laser scanner. Our experimental set up consists of a truck equipped with one camera and two fast, inexpensive 2D laser scanners, traveling on city streets under normal traffic conditions. The horizontal laser scans are used to determine the ap...
متن کاملChange detection in coral reef communities using Ikonos satellite sensor imagery and historic aerial photographs
For decades, aerial photographs have been the only source of very high spatial resolution data for coral reef researchers. With the launch of the Ikonos satellite in 1999, imagery with a 4 m spatial resolution in multispectral mode can now be combined with historical aerial photographs for change detection. We demonstrate this potential by combining two aerial photographs (1981 and 1992) and an...

In this survey, the performance of aerial photographs and satellite imagery in determining sand dunes morphology was studied in the Erg of Gavkhouni international wetland located in the southeast part of Isfahan province. Aerial photographs (scale:1:20000) and the panchromatic bands of ETM+ and IRS-P6 sensor were acquired and geometrically corrected using topographic map of the region (scale:1:...
متن کاملThe Application of Digital Techniques to the Detection and Extraction of Archaeological Earthwork Monuments from Aerial Photographs
Aerial photographs are a valuable resource for archaeological assessment, but their accurate interpretation is extremely labour intensive. The application of digital image processing techniques to the assessment process has, to-date, primarily focused on providing automatic measurement and correction of distortions inherent in oblique images. However, the monument discovery and mapping process ...
